Together, LO, FTF and Akademikerne run an office in Brussels that spearheads the joint lobbying of the central organisations vis-à-vis the EU. The office is also the domicile of the central organization’s news portal, Fagligt.EU, which provides relevant EU-news on labour market affairs to Danish readers.
Influencing the EU’s political agenda is subject to fierce competition, and labour market affairs are no exception. Therefore, LO, FTF and Akademikerne work hard to safeguard the interests of Danish workers. Part of this work has required the setting up of a joint office in Brussels in 2014.
The Danish Trade Union EU Office works to promote and defend the interests of Danish workers when the EU-institutions - The European Commission, the European Parliament and the EU Council - review proposals and initiatives. The Danish Trade Union Office also monitors the rulings of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) on labour market affairs and works closely with other organizations when necessary to promote the interests of Danish workers.
The Danish Trade Union EU Office also runs the news portal, Fagligt.EU, which provides daily labour news stories from the EU in Danish.
